With a primary focus on cultivating future talents in AI-based emerging technologies, CelcomDigi Metaversity™ harnesses the power of 5G and fiber connectivity to provide immersive learning opportunities. By seamlessly integrating metaverse, XR, AI, and robotics into its curriculum, the platform offers students unparalleled hands-on digital learning experiences within a virtual environment, fostering deep technical expertise and in-demand competencies.
Upon completion of CelcomDigi Metaversity™’s immersive learning courses, students will be awarded certifications from XRA and VIRNECT, validating their proficiency in metaverse technologies. This strategic collaboration underscores the pivotal role of XRA and its 70 alliance members worldwide in driving Malaysia’s digital transformation agenda, emphasizing the importance of equipping talents with necessary XR skills essential for various industries.
The initiative has already gained significant momentum, integrating multiple use-cases across various faculties in collaboration with six esteemed local universities. Spanning fields such as healthcare, engineering, robotics, historical, automotive and cybersecurity, these collaborations highlight the platform’s versatility and relevance across diverse sectors.
A key collaborator in this transformative endeavor is the Ministry of Higher Education, with the initiative officially launched by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Datuk TS. Mustapha Sakmud. CelcomDigi and the ministry are actively collaborating to implement metaverse, XR, and AI learning solutions in 21 universities nationwide, ensuring widespread adoption and impact.
Moreover, 10 prominent universities, including Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Asia Pacific University (APU), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), have committed to adopting CelcomDigi Metaversity™’s immersive learning modules. As the preferred connectivity provider for these institutions, CelcomDigi will provide essential fiber connectivity and digital IoT solutions to support their transformative journey towards digital education.
